Jane Owen is the incoming editor of The Financial Times’ House & Home section.

She is a former executive of The Times; presenter of various TV programmes including BBC2’s prime time Gardens Through Time series and the official RHS Chelsea Flower Show dvd; the author of many books; a garden designer and a speaker. She is a member of Women of the Year’s nominating council.

In April 2009 Jane stayed with a Baka community in Cameroon’s rainforest on a Giving Nation trip with Rushcliffe Comprehensive School, Nottinghamshire. The people she met there gave her the inspiration for this Chelsea Flower Show garden.

Ann_Marie PowellTV garden designer Ann-Marie Powell qualified with a Distinction in the National Certificate in Horticultural Landscape Studies and Garden Design in 1995 from London’s Capel Manor. In 1999 she set up her own garden design company, Ann-Marie Powell Gardens. Clients include Elton John and Lennox Lewis.

Ann-Marie has written numerous books and national newspaper features on garden design, plants and garden build. Her latest book, Recipes for a Small Garden will be published in the UK and Europe in spring 2010.

She also regularly writes for the National Press including The Times, The Guardian, The Observer, several Internet, gardening and lifestyle magazines and is the gardening columnist for Prima Magazine.

Ann-Marie has appeared extensively on television since 1998, presenting over 20 different garden design and gardening programmes on terrestrial channels. Most recently her television accolades include the live coverage of the Chelsea flower Show for BBC1 and co-presenting and judging the live Channel 4 series The Great Garden Challenge, the biggest garden design competition in the UK.
